A New Yorker in Dallas

When planning a corporate offsite, the choice of destination is driven by many factors:  city versus resort, weather, convenience, and activity options, to name a few.  Sometimes a client simply has a connection to a location, which was the case for us in sourcing hotels in Dallas, Texas, recently.  Undeterred by the 107 degree weather during our site tours, we were pleasantly surprised with the offerings we found in the city leading the country in hotel development.

Interested in traveling to Dallas for your next corporate event or for fun?  Check out the hotels that made our short list:

Las Colinas Resort

This former Four Seasons Resort turned Ritz is one of the only luxury resort hotels we discovered in the area, and the setting was spectacular.  Situated on 400 acres, including a 36-hole golf course, tennis courts, pool and spa, this property has the convenience of a city hotel with the amenities and feel of a resort.  It is perfect for an executive offsite with white glove service and plenty of activities on property and off.  We were 25 minutes from AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, where you can experience a tour of the facility, team building exercises, and even dinner on the field.

Hôtel Swexan

“Swiss hospitality meets Texan charm,” at this brand new luxury hotel in uptown, Dallas.  As New Yorkers, this hotel felt a bit like home - a sophisticated coolness emanating from the guests, the employees and the chic public spaces.   We were tempted to cancel our other tours so we could lounge at the exquisite rooftop pool, but we had too much to explore.  For activities nearby, we met with the legendary Texas chef, Kent Rathbun, and we were impressed with his restaurants and his passion for creating memorable culinary experiences.

Bowie House

For a unique Texas experience, head to Fort Worth, where Auberge Resorts just opened their newest stunning property.   Fort Worth is rich in history and has the old Western feel that we expected in Dallas but did not experience.  We recommend a tour of the Fort Worth Stockyards, where cattle runs are held daily.  Schedule an appointment to buy a custom made cowboy hat at one of the local shops, and wind down the evening with a cocktail at the Hotel Drover and dinner at Lonesome Dove.  Feeling adventurous? Try their Rabbit-Rattlesnake Sausage and Wild Boar Ribs.

Beyond these top three choices, we were also impressed with the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek and the Ritz-Carlton Dallas. There are plenty of luxury hotel options in Dallas. If you need help sourcing your next corporate offsite, we are IATA certified and can help streamline the process for you, ensuring you choose the perfect setting for your group.
